half full story of the day: foiled again.
A friend of mine sent a request out for people we thought might fit the bill for a video her company is producing. I shot back 6 people I thought fit their criteria. I cringed when I hit send on an email to my landlady about the gig. Today, it’s about “old ladies” (as she put it) surprising you ... she responded within 30 min that she was interested. She rocks.

On follow through ...
Irony. Gotta love it.
When I first created half full’s “Reality Check” blog, my strategy was to write one entry per month so that I did not feel overwhelmed with everything else I had on my plate. At the end of each article, I inform my readers what to expect on the next go around. In my last post, it was stated that the next entry would be on follow through.
That was in December of 2009.
Yes, we all have a million ideas and the best intentions to bring them to full fruition. And then there’s reality. Bit off more than you could chew? Spoke too soon? A dreamer?
I have people who would rather stuff me in the closest than hear me say “follow through is the key to the success of any plan” one more time.
Being in the business of creative problem solving, I have taken my meager attempt at working on this blog once a month and revised my strategy.

- Don’t write so much (you already know that attention span is to be savored)
- Write often (shouldn’t be a problem)
- Repeat it in other areas of your communication strategy (Marcom 101)
Every day on Facebook I post a “half full story of the day.” It seems to be attracting readers. 420 characters. A pertinent story worth sharing from the day. Turning a negative to a positive. And done.
So here goes:
July 29, 2010
half full story of the day: 16 year old wisdom. Yesterday, I drove by a scene on the shoulder of 95 - 2 cars, 2 men & a young adult hugging himself tightly, rocking back & forth. A glance in the rearview mirror revealed the story. A totaled student driver car. Today, it’s about you, young driver ... while an outright scary lesson, you now have the rest of your life to drive safe & teach others to do so as well.
Next Up on “Reality Check?”
July 30, 2010 half full story of the day.
Hopefully.
